Los Angeles, CA: Artist Partner Group (APG), in partnership with Universal Pictures and Universal Music Group (UMG), released “Angel Pt. 2” on 15 June.
Following the release of “Angel Pt. 1,” the newest rendition sees the return of hit singer-songwriter and GRAMMY nominated producer JVKE, JIMIN of 21st century pop icons BTS and GRAMMY winning songstress Muni Long joined by global icon and four-time GRAMMY-nominee Charlie Puth.
“Angel Pt. 2” serves as Puth’s return to the franchise after his 2015 hit with Wiz Khalifa, “See You Again.”
“I owe so much to this franchise and have always been so proud to be a part of the Fast Family,” Puth shares.
“I’m thrilled to come back and collaborate with all of these fantastic artists on “Angel Pt. 2.”
Coinciding with the release of FAST X, Angel Pt. 1 was released worldwide alongside a star-studded music video featuring all of the returning artists in addition to Kodak Black and NLE Choppa.
Highlighting emotional performances from the artists interspersed with snippets from the film, the video has amassed over 23 million views in three weeks, peaking at #4 on the overall Youtube Music trending chart while the single went #1 on the Apple digital song charts and has catapulted to over 110 million global streams to date.
The track was previously made available only as a 62 second teaser for fans and quickly garnered over 8 million streams and over 1 million views on its music video trailer within its first week on Youtube while spawning multiple TikTok trends.
Continuing the franchise’s tradition of showcasing music that captures the high-octane action and adrenaline-fueled excitement of the Fast & Furious Saga, fans were given an early preview of the project with the release of “Let’s Ride” from YG, Lambo4oe, Ty Dolla $ign, which debuted in February 2023 during SuperBowl Sunday alongside the film’s first official trailer.
The trailer generated more than 36 million views on Youtube and features an interpolation of Notorious BIG’s “Notorious Thugs.”
The song was quickly added to 25+ New Music Fridays and was Top 10 on Spotify’s influential playlist, Rap Caviar.
The film franchise has grossed more than $6 billion worldwide, and the soundtracks from previous films have been streamed more than 22.5 BILLION times worldwide.
Other previously released tracks from the soundtrack include “Gasolina” (Safari Riot Remix) [ft. Myke Towers], which is featured in the one of the trailers for the film (watch HERE) and “Won’t Back Down,” (YoungBoy NBA, Dermot Kennedy, and Bailey Zimmerman), which debuted to critical acclaim by the Fast Saga fanbase.
FAST X earned US$650 million worldwide
Over the course of ten films that have stoked passion in an ever-expanding audience and have earned more than $6 billion at the worldwide box office, Universal Pictures’ record-smashing, homegrown Fast & Furious Saga has become the studio’s most-profitable and longest-running franchise.
Across social media platforms, the fan following for the movies and cast has grown into the biggest of any active franchise.
In addition to 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, which debuted in theaters as the biggest global opening of all time, and 2021’s blockbuster F9, the franchise has expanded to a multitude of offerings – from toys and video games to an animated series and the successfully launched spin-off franchise, Hobbs & Shaw.
The tenth chapter in the Fast & Furious Saga, Fast X, has grossed more than $650 million at the worldwide box office since its release on May 19, 2023.
